<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial> Here on the Gulf of Mexico where the sea
water temp goes as high as 85-90 in the summer the temp on Caprice
goes up to 180-190 at 2500 rpm while in the cool winter when the sea water drops
to 70 the engine runs at 160. I would think that just because the sea water temp
goes up 20 degrees that would not cause the engine temp to go up 20 degrees
also.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I tried just about every suggestion I was given and
even had a mechanic check it out with no improvement. I was told if the temp
goes to 180 don't worry about it because the normal engine temp should be
160-195.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Chuck - Replace the thermostat, possibly replace the pressure cap on the
coolant tank/exhaust manifold. I know the latter sounds a bit
counter-intuitive, but if you're not maintaining pressure the coolant can boil
and overheat.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>By the way, a $25 Kubota thermostat works just fine, you don't need to
spend $60 on a Universal thermostat. Call Ronnie @ TractorSmart.com
