Are you saying that from the SW corner of Fishers we should head for =
the NW corner of Gardiners, and then toward Three Mile?
Also what are the boundaries of the Race and when will be clear of =
it?
You said to go on the Flood while Fred said to go on the Ebb or =
slack? I am confused.
My Eldridge is on Carpe Ventum so I can't look for answers there.

I did this for many years in the Thurber race. From West Harbor =
Fishers Island plan the current for it is huge. Maybe 3 to 5 knots. =
Do not think you are looking where you are going. You should go on =
the flood. Coming out of West Harbor go around the point then go South =
down the West side of Fishers. You are sheltered from the current here. =
Then at the South West end of Fishers go straight out to the South =
for a few miles. The current will be taking you South West but away =
from Little Gull.

Then come around to the West ride the current into Gardners Bay. =
Stay away from Little Gull Island as that will suck you into Long =
Island Sound. Try doing this in Light Winds in a race. I tried it =
for many years before I learned to watch the master and how he played =
the tides. =20

I will check out the tides for you. Your boat can take it but =
the deal is to ride with the tide. If there is a blow do not go.
