Bill,

 

Paul has a board meeting at his YC tonight, so I'll jump in. Paul shouldn't
be checking e-mail during the meeting.

 

The boat in front is a Norlin 34 that bedevils Paul regularly. The picture
was probably taken during the Tri-Island series in May.

 

That is the Olympic range in the background.

 

He needs to move the spinnaker leads back as well :-).

Did you pass him?  He looks like a Cal 39.   I think you look faster but he
has a full spinnaker.  

 

Trim.  Down wind you do not need that twist in your mainsail .  East the
traveler out and take in on the mainsheet.  Your competition main is way
over trimmed and in too close.   

 

You should be drifting over to Starboard to try to take his wind.  When was
this picture taken?

i took both stripes off (with a heat gun) and didn't replace them.  hull
looks great without any.

3M vinyl tape can be purchased at most marine outlets.  My C320 had the teal
and blue stripes.  I removed the teal one and the boat looked much better.
Consider doing just a blue shear stripe to match the blue boot stripe.  A
heat gun worked well removing the old stripes, although some cleanup with
acetone was necessary.

The Hull Stripes (tape?) on my 1995 MKII #1494 need to be replaced. Any
suggestions where they can be purchased. One is Teal and one is Blue.
