Bill, one thing you may try is a towing bridle similar to this (
http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|294|314563&id=98483):



Works great for towing our Achilles 10 ft RIB. I let out about 15 ft. of
line and then slowly pull it in until the dingy is surfing on the stern wave
(the point at which there is the least amount of pull on the towing line).
