Gene,
Yes, the completely enclosed windlass is the Freedom model.? The partially enclosed model is the VWC, and the open model is the VW.? I have the first two manuals, and I'm looking for the third for the Tech Notes CD.

Is the enclosed chain/rope gypsy called the "Freedom" model?   I have 
the April, 98 edition of the Freedom 800 model on my 1999 boat.
