Agree with all previous posts. I did not take the best care of my new HX the first few years I had it and that was not good. I was lucky to tatally save it. Took it to a local radiator shop (Freddies in Bellflower for you locals) and they boiled it out, pressure tested it, totally cleaned it, stripped it and painted it with hear paint - thing looked brand new inside and out - $60.00.

I had the small elbow fitting of the out flow of impeller 90 % blocked with
salt crystals. It was hard to find until you took it off and tried to get
air through it.

| If that is the case, then I'd have to guess water is not circulating
| properly. A pump not pumping, impeller not impelling, or a blockage.
|
| No, I'm not just trying to state the obvious. If you have eliminated
| the first two, you have to concentrate on the last. Start from the
| intake and follow the flow from there. Both through the closed water
| parts and the "fresh" water parts, though it sounds like the closed
| part. Also don't ignore a possible air blockage. Someone mentioned a
| stuck closed thermostat and that is also a definite possible blockage.
