For those who are forlorn because of bad weather check out this short video.. The sun doesn't always shine in SOCA . I decided to go for a sail yesterday before the admiral gets here. :-)

Wouldn't it blow out the water when it started and was run?  Are you  
saying that having a partly full muffler affected your power and not  
just that it kept it from starting?

I can't imagine that it wouldn't have enough power to blow out the  
muffler once it was running, though I've seen a full muffler prevent  
starting due to backpressure.
