Bill I have the link 10 with 4 GC batteries and I believe the answer to both questions Is yes 

It clearly tells you how many amps you have used and you can see what Is going in depending on alternator or dock power charger which wil vary based upon your level of discharge, higher at the beginning then tapering off 

I'm not positive about how the shunt works but I think the answer is yes also
