[C36IA] Maxwell Freedom 800 take 2

I gut the Bushing off by just using a ¾ piece of wood. Put it in the grove
between the upper and lower chain wheel and hit it with a hammer. One side
will pop off the Plastic snap bushing. Then turn it around and do the
same thing on the other side and off it comes. Parts should be in to
West by tomorrow.

He could not get that bushing to slide down the shaft so he just replaced
what was left of the original, which was just the wider "brim" section, as
he called the "top Hat" shape. It lasted fine through our 7 week cruise to
the east coast of Florida and through the Keys. I do plan on readdressing
the issue this summer/fall.

Is there no bushing in there at all? - while I can see it working "kind of"
, I don't see how he couldn't snap the thing in - its not that big of a
deal.

The issue you have now is that the only thing keeping the upper and lower
parts of your gypsy together is the screw down for tightening or loosening
your windlass.

I wouldn't keep that situation long term - but who knows it might work for
10 years

I had our windlass serviced last year with new pressure arm and stripper.
The technician could not get the new snap bushing on and told me to not
worry about it. The sleeve portion was completely worn off. The parts came
from Maxwell. The only thing I've noticed is that it takes several
rotations now to tighten or lossen the windlass.

Here is the deal. The bad parts are the stripper and the pressure arm
assembly.

Anyone know how to Get parts 16, 19 and 17 apart so I can replace part 19?

It is held together by a snap bushing. Do I need a press to get it out?
