Tom,
Thanks for posting those pix.? I remember seeing them before, and wondered why they were not on the website.? For whatever reason, the website had a hiccup, and they disappeared.? They are now included (AGAIN) with Gerry's article.? It's under Articles > Maintenance.

Bill -
?
-- The pressure arm has a metal?L shaped pin and a little clear plastic sleeve with the kit (see my email from before)
?
Just push the clear plastic sleeve into?the larger of the 2?small holes?on the Port side of?the body of the Windlass base
?
Then push the metal?L shaped pin through the hole in the white plastic Pressure arm and push the longer end into the plastic sleeve and the little end into the other hole.
?
In that position it will be held into the body -- put the rope/rode around the gypsy and with a thin screwdriver (or butterknife) & hold the stripper off to the side so you can slide the gypsy with the rope back down the shaft
?
The attached pictures should help

Tom,
I looked at both of those articles, but neither show how to install the pressure arm.

Bill,
When all else fails, check the website!? I just did a search (Upper right corner of the home page):
http://www.c36ia.com/search/node/windlass
and came up with a bunch of hits, including two articles on winch maintenance, one by Steve Jones, and one by Gerry Nylese.? There is also an owner's manual on the Tech Notes CD, but I'm pretty sure it is for the Freedom Windlass and not the VW800.? Hope this helps.

Major malfunction of my Windlass Sunday. The stripper arm came loose and
jambed the thing up. So I need some parts to fix it. The plastic spacer arm
or what ever you call it is also broken. How is it put in? Press fit?
Also some drawings of how to fix it. I will do some searching tommorrow.
Anyone know who stocks parts for this in New England or do I have to call
California or Catalina?
