We were floating behind our boat during a Fleet 15 raft up and one of the other owners mentioned that the stern rail on our MkI is just like the stern rail on his C30. He modified it by cutting out part of the lower rail and putting in a couple of 90 degree fittings with a short stanchion to brace it. I made the change this past weekend. This will make it much easier to get into the boat without having to step over the lower rail. See photos below.
