Hi, all.

We have another great issue of JibSheet coming out in early June. It is not too late to submit some neat photos and captions for inclusion. Anyone really ambitious can submit a story with photos, tech tips, etc.

This is YOUR organization, and your e-magazine, so share what you like. Please email me at duane.ising@comcast.net. I would need submissions by 12 May as the Admiral and I (and cat) are casting off for a cruise from late May to late June.

Fleet Captains are already aware they owe me a report. I have recieved none to date.

Duane, I am still in the process of organizing Fleet #11 here in the Carolinas.

Duane,

THough a newbie, I might submit photo or two of Last Resort, the Catalina 36 I inherited from my father when he passed from Parkinson's almost two years ago. My wife and children have been helping me bring her back from black mold, rotting interior, etc.

Might this be of any interest?

Cheers!

Duane,

Thanks! I can and will put something together. Deadline?

Great, Al.

I would need to get anything for the June JibSheet by 19 May, or it risks not making it.

I will be on deadline for JibSheet and my Coast Guard Auxiliary newsletter, as well as getting the house and boat ready for our month cruise, and working fulltime, so time will be precious.

Thanks,

The June Jibsheet is ready ... sort of.

With the embedded audio interview, the file size is over 8MB, so a few officers are working on a solution. Leaving it in their capable hands, my admiral and cat and I are setting sail on a 4-week cruise. There is a separate post with the link to my blog, if anyone is interested.

Hope you enjoy the June JibSheet and appreciate all the contributors for their efforts!

Thanks for the nice compliments. My efforts would be nothing without great submissions by all concerned.

There has been little comment regarding the audio link in our most recent Jib Sheet, before embarking on the next interview I would like to ask if the membership found this format worthy of our publication. In as much as it took a fair bit of effort by my associates here to get it linked to our ePub I would like to hear from you out there that this format has a place in our Jib Sheet before proceeding with the next interview and incumbering my fellow staff members with the agony of this task.

That's a good question, Steve. I do believe we have the hard part behind us as far as incorporating your excellent interview format into JibSheet, but all of us involved in the publication of JibSheet would love to know how well our efforts are received.

I am not looking for more personal compliments, but I would surely like to know how many of our membership actually read the JibSheet. Maybe a survey?

Duane,

I like the idea of a survey, it may serve two tasks. One, it may tell us if we as officers are putting efforts into Jibsheet purely for our own satisfaction. Secondly, it may intice more folks to explore Jibsheet, a fantastic publication that you should be commended for.

I suspect that the majority of our veiwers at this site like myself, log in often and then just peruse the recent banter on the forums and spend little time navagating the rest of our site that has many tasty nooks and crannies. There is evidence of this as questions come up on nearly a daily basis on the forum that get a response that the answers are available in one of the many corners of our portal. Maybe we could hide some free hats and burgies around the site like easter eggs to encourage more navigation or tracking cookies that credit the individual with a rank change to Old Salt once they have completed a circumnavigation.

I believe that the message board software that we use on this site - or on the Forum - has a Survey Question option. Didn't we just use that to approve an amendment to the bylaws??? Perhaps a similar Question can be sent to all C36IA Members (capital M).
