What can I say, except he knows how to relax and look stylish as well.

We happen to have 2 cats and a dog so I can hit both threads!

This is our girl Quincy, an 8 year old German Shepherd. She's a European of Czech and German bloodlines, they are a very different dog than North American shepherds, smaller, lighter, bred to work but a great companion dog. While she's a high energy dog the pictures show that she is pretty laid back on the boat. Most of the time, anyway.

How do you insert photos in a communication?

John, when you hit the "Post Reply" button you get the little editor window to type into. Scroll the page down and below the editor you will see another section called "Additional options". In there is a button "Manage Attachments". That pops up another window that lets you select pictures from your computer's hard drive or from a URL and upload them to the site and then it embeds them as thumbnails in the bottom of your post.

Click the Browse button on that pop up window to find the picture and once selected, click the Upload button to upload it to the site. You can upload several in sequence. Once done uploading, scroll to the bottom of that window and click the "Close Window" button.

Keep in mind, there is limit on the size of photo that will be accepted.

As an after thought, there is a free program call VSO Image Resizer that works very well in reducing in order to post.

I tried it, but it didn't work. When I clicked on "preview post" there wasn't any photo there. Oh, well, my dogs will just have to remain anonymous.

You also have to have selected the "Go Advanced" mode on the reply form.

I guess I need to brush up on my COLREG's, I think the light confifuration you are showing on your dingy would indicatate you should be pushing two barges and no one is at the helm.

There are some difficulties to having our dog Harley onboard but she is part of the family and her cute and funny antics make it worth it. She loves the dinghy but not the diesel engine. She barks when people pass by. When it's hot she drinks a lot of water and gets antsy when she needs to pee, not good on a long passage. When cruising sometimes it's hard to find public spots to let her go to the bathroom without being sneered at. This summer we'll try to train her to go onboard. We don't have a swim platform or walk-thru transom so we have to lift all 65 lbs. of her from the dinghy onto the deck at our mooring. She likes to go forward when we're under sail so we installed life line netting. But she loves the adventure and she won't let us leave the house without her! I also included a photo of her best friend Cattywampas (he's the boss).

Great Swimmers, No shedding and don't smell when wet or dry. The are the best for my money!!

Ok, here is my dog, Echo. A three year old Viszla.

I inherited my father's Catalina 36 after he passed away from a valiant battle with Parkinson's in 2008. The boat had fallen into major disprepair, largely the result of his inability to tend to it.

As a tribute, I have been slowly but surely restoring her. We have recently rechristened her 'Last Resort'....I proposed to my wife near there (Tortola) with my parents sharing a bareboat charter with us in 1994. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to share photos, experience in getting 'Last Resort' back online!

Here is our Admiral of our fleet (i.e. 1- 95 C36mkII, 1-Spirit 6.5 Trailersailer, 1- 14ft Alum. fishing boat, 1- 11ft Inflatable dinghy, and 3 Old Town Loon Kayaks) Adm Chase is shown here on our delivery day handling the Main Halyard and overseeing all important activities on the ship. The second photo was at the end of an ardorous passage from Charlevoix to Mackinaw City... he was just plain tuckered out! This spring he is breaking in a new deckhand, his little brother Rascal. :p
