As most of us are bringing the sailing year to a close, we will be thinking of winter projects, the equipment wish list for the holiday season, and next year's warm sailing adventures.
Some of us will also be working with our local fleets to plan out the 2010 schedule.
If you are new to the Catalina 36 family or have logged 1000s of miles under her keel, the local fleets are a great way to meet new people, share adventures, and gain a greater local knowledge. If you race, some clubs will create a "one design" class with as few as 3 boats.
You can find information on the main page of the website under "Fleet Directory" in the "Quick Links" box or in the 36 Section of the Mainsheet Magazine. With 16 Fleets, chances are there is one in your backyard. If not, send in a note for guidance on creating a fleet.
So if you have not reached out to your local Catalina 36 Fleet, take a moment and send them an email to check it out.
Personally, our local Fleet has greatly enhanced our "sail time" through destinations, experiences, and friendships created.
Happy Holidays,
