On my C-36 #150, the transom boarding ladder ends with the bottom rung less than a foot underwater. When I was younger (and lighter) that was not too much of an issue but after recent knee surgery, it is simply not useable. Has anybody found a way to get more rungs under water? If I add a step to the ladder, it will stick up above the rail when raised and may not look good. I'm thinking about buying one of the telescoping ladders like West Marine sells and having it welded to the existing ladder in place of the last step - that way it would offer more steps under water and collapse to normal rail height when raised. Any better ideas??
