PERF for 1992 Catalina 36 TM Wing Keel

Hi Folks,

Looking to do a solo race or two on the great lakes next summer with the Catalina 36.

She's a 1992, tall mast, wing keel, with a fully battened main and a 135 genoa.

Wondering if anyone has a similar boat & can could let me know what your PERF is a) when sailing white sail and b) with spin.

Under PHRF-NW, I have rating of 174 for my wing keel, standard rig '95 with an undersized spinnaker and three blade max prop. My friend Paul (Mata Hari #1660) has a rating of 147 for his tall rig, fin keel with all standard sized sails. You should be in that range. I believe that thye NW adjustment for a tall rig is 6 seconds. And his fin keel gets him another 6 second adjustment.

Add 18 seconds for white sails ratings in the NW, so we would be 192 in that configuration. Of course, if you are sailing under LM-PHRF, your numbers will probably be a bit faster than ours. A few years ago, PHRF-NW adjusted all boats up by 10% to give slower boats a better chance of winning.

C36 PHRF for Southwest Florida PHRF Spiannaker, Std Rig, 150% Jenny, wing Keel, 3 blade fixed prop is 174 for Buoy Course.

Non-Spinnaker, cruising Class is 207, for Random Leg Course.

We sail a Catalina 36 Mk 11 TM with fin keel on Lake Ontario and were given a PHRF-LO of 156 for white sails, based on 155% genoa.
