When we moved to a new bulletin board system a few years ago the participation was quite anemic at first, to say the least. We lost access to a lot of good information, info that was very conveniently stored and accessed. (Yes, I know the old BB can still be accessed in the archives, but it isn't as convenient or as fresh as what we have now on our present Forums system.)

Our present Forums are rich with ideas, fixes, advice and commiseration. And because of this participation, the value of the Forum has grown as the number of postings has increased, bringing participation back to a healthy level. Still, I thought someone would comment on our recent passing of the 10,000 postings number. I guess that's my job, so here goes...

Congratulations to all of YOU, for making the C36IA bulletin board a great place to meet and share ideas. The Forums represent just one of the important tools we have to help support the value of YOUR boat and OUR fleet. We hope the C36IA continues to provide you valuable technical help and fresh creative ideas that you can benefit from.

Happy 10,000 C36IA Forum Postings!

And may I add my thanks to the Association officers, editors and forum moderators who make this forum such a great place for all of us to enjoy and profit from.

I have learned so much - I do not think you can read about these questions anywhere in any book. Continue the good work.

Well done on the milestone.
I find that once a group reaches a certain size, the move from an email based discussion group to a forum only based system, is necessary.
It reduces the number of emails that keep coming to your email client, and allows easier searching and retrieval of information.

Maybe this is something the 36 association may need to consider?
Of course you will get people who prefer the "old system", but these are probably the same sort of people that did not want to change from horse & carts to cars, or from the silly imperial (english) system to the must better metric system:)

Congratulations on the first 10,000. I look forward to participating in the next 10,000.
