:confused:Hello. We are having difficulties with the windows on our 1983 boat. We have already removed all of the windows and replaced the seals, but some of them continue to leak. We are wondering if there is another method that we can try or if we could modify the windows completely. If we replace the windows with plexiglass or lexan, screwed onto the exterior of the cabin (with no aluminum frame like on the more recent models,) the interior finish will be unsightly. Any suggestions will be most welcome! Gerald and Christine, Quebec.

Check out the replacement windows from Cruising Concepts at the following URL: http://www.cruisingconcepts.com/retroftwin.htm
I see there is a set of these windows for sale in the C36 Classified ads for half price. Might be worth considering. By the way, I have no interest in the windows for sale in the classifieds.

Are you sure the water is coming in around the windows? I had this on my C30 and it turned out the water was coming in around tyhe main hatch behind the mast and running down thru the headliner.
Sealing the edges of the hatch solved the problem.

you should also check out "go plastics" or mark plastics they can make up vinyl window replacement the one advantage over the cruising concepts windows is that they are true replacement windows you can also check out http://www.oceandynamics.com/order.html both offers, although i believe go plastics would work out better given the camber of the couch roof. i have the same problem and have battling this problem since purchasing the boat over 2 years ago. good luck!

Gerald,
Can you clarify what is leaking? is it the non-opening windows at the back of the main cabin, or the oval shaped opening ports near the front?
Thanks,
Dave
