As I look at this 2001 Catalina 36 I can see that I will ned to replace the interior cushions and both matresses. Do I need to deal directly with Catalina? Surely there is an after market where I can purchase these. Does anyone know of where I could order them? Thank you in advance for your help.

Glenn:
We got all new cushions from JSI in the spring of 2007. We seen them at the strickly sail show in Chicago and worked with Jane Vance. We got a ultra leather below as it was highly recommended and we are very happy with them. What we did not get was v berth and aft cabin cushions as they are always made up into a bed, So they are always covered. They come with new insides as they do not use any of the old cushions at all. They sent up a roll of pattern paper that you lay out to do the patterns with as it is a very detailed instructions. Our cost was $3400.

Thank you Randy. I appreciate your comments. I will be replacing the mattresses as well. Any ideas?
Peace,

Gee, a 2001 should not have too bad a condition of cushion foam. Probably your covers are just worn or stained. You can probably take them to a local upholstery shop and have them recovered. They can use the current covers as a pattern for the new. They will also make sure the snaps match up in location. If you wish to also replace the foam, the local shop can also use the old as a pattern for the new.
As for matresses, I (actualy the admiral) found the foam in my 1999 model is just too hard for decent sleeping. We went to Sam's club and purchased a king size mattress memory foam pad which we cut and put on top of the V-berth mattress. It works great.

I had good success with the "Tufted Topper" on a previous boat (C 270).
